Contemporary Ensemble

This is a student-driven ensemble focused on giving novice performers the opportunity to learn how to play in an ensemble setting while exploring a wide variety of musical genres.

-All types of instruments welcome

-Students help select Ensemble repertoire

-Music Theory

-Performance Technique

-Explore Jazz, Pop, Classical, Blues, Rock and much more!

A final presentation for student’s families may be arranged for the final class period based on Instructor discretion.

Requirements: Students should have at least one year of experience with their instrument and be able to read music as sight reading may be required.

Student Age: The minimum age for this ensemble is 9 years old. The group is open to a variety of ages, but is primarily designed for beginner students. Advanced players may not find this group challenging enough.

Contemporary Ensemble will meet for 6 weeks on Thursdays from 5-6pm during the Winter session.

Cancellation policy

There are no make-ups for group classes or workshops when it is a student absence. The Conservatory reserves the right to cancel classes/workshops with insufficient enrollment. In the event that the Conservatory cancels the class/workshop, a full refund will be issued.

The Conservatory’s Executive Director will determine your eligibility for a refund or school credit as follows:

  • At least 2 weeks’ notice prior to the start of class/workshop: full tuition refund minus the registration fee.
  • 1 week notice prior to the start of class/workshop: 50% refund minus the registration fee
  • Once a program has begun there are no refunds

Exceptions to these polices will be made only in rare cases and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Executive Director.
